About Steven

Steven Bynum lives near a bayou and swamp in Louisiana, where squirrels, raccoons, deer, coyotes, and now and then a bear wander through the yard. Trees are most of his neighbors, and he likes it that way.

Born late at night, he does his best work after the sun goes down. He writes horror and dark fantasy with plenty of blood on the page: zombies in the DEADERS saga and Eve Into Zombies, vampires, werewolves and ghosts in The Coopwood Files, a werewolf loose in the deer woods in The Skinning Season, and death magic in The Melfic Saga. Under all the gore, his stories keep coming back to family, because to him family is everything.

When he isn't writing, he's reading or playing video games. He doesn't claim to be a great writer. Just a writer trying to make his way in the pages.
